Christmas lunch at the Victory Services Club

The 39 Club celebrated the festive season with a superb Christmas lunch at the Victory Services Club on Thursday December 12th.  It was also a most auspicious occasion as the 39 Club donated £800 to the causes special to the Victory Services Club which was accepted by Air Commodore Nigel Beet CBE.  The donation was raised with a one off auction made possible with a statuette sculpture donated by Juliet Scott to support our favoured good causes.

Many thanks to Juliet Scott and all the members and friends that supported the auction event held at the annual Banquet weekend at The Sir Christopher Wren Hotel in Windsor back in October.

The 39 Club’s new Chairman Keith Brown is also pictured with member Jamie Harden looking very festive next to the Christmas Tree, we wish Keith every success with his time ahead in the Chair.

The 39 Club would finally like to wish all the members, Honorary members, friends and family a wonderful, happy Christmas time.  Thank you all for your support.

Noah’s Ark Childrens Hospice

September 11th 2019 saw the Chairman Simon Lovell, Hon Treasurer Brian Winterbourne and President Andrew Tompsett hand over the contribution to one of our chosen charities, Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice, the only hospice of its kind due to open next month fully in Barnet, North London.  Priya and her team dedicated a good few hours giving us the complete tour of this outstanding facility.

It is very rare in the history of the 39 Club that we revisit and support a single worthy cause twice in the same decade.  Chairman Andrew Tompsett chose to support this cause during 2016, as one of his work colleagues lost their 8 year old son Zac which massively hit home to all concerned.  Andrew commented “to revisit this amazing project supporting the 1,200 families currently affected by the blight of terminal illness in children was a moving sight to behold.  The progress made at Noah’s Ark was overwhelming and to witness the effort put in to create and build this high quality and most incredible calm sympathetic building within the countryside was second to none”.  What a terrific good cause and we thank every single member and friend of the 39 Club who have made this donation possible.   We are eternally grateful.
