May 10 saw the annual Chairman's Day out which this year saw members and friends of the Club head to the very famous Churchill War Rooms in Central London behind Downing Street. It was a fascinating insight into how Government was run when London was in the midst of the Blitz. There was also inside a well curated exhibition by the Imperial War museum into Churchill himself where even in wartime his savage approach and wit was legendary.

In true form afterwards we enjoyed a superb Club Secretary's lunch at the favourite Victory Services Club in Marble Arch. The after dinner speaker gave us a wonderful appraisal of the much written about Battle of Jutland in 1916.

The 39 Club members and friends who attended the day certainly learnt more about both world wars and the strategy involved in overcoming adversity.

A historical and very memorable day out with wonderful company. I wonder what treat we will have in store for next year?
